#SrigleyStats Weekend Recap: Las Vegas
Taking a look back at this weekend's NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series races from Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
The ‘Round of 8’ for both the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series began this past weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, marking the first opportunity for drivers to lock themselves into the Final Four with a victory.
Kyle Larson was successful in doing exactly that, holding off a very hard-charging Christopher Bell to score his fourth victory of the season, and punch his ticket into the Championship 4 at Phoenix.
In the NASCAR Xfinity Series event, though, Riley Herbst took charge and dominated Saturday’s race, winning by nearly 15 seconds over second-place John Hunter Nemechek.

#SrigleyStats Spotlight Driver - Las Vegas - Ryan Reed
In Saturday’s Alsco Uniforms 302 at Las Vegas, two-time Daytona winner Ryan Reed got back behind the wheel of a NASCAR Xfinity Series vehicle for the first-time in nearly a half-decade.
Reed was behind the wheel of the No. 66 Chevrolet for MBM Motorsports - although the car was prepared by Alpha Prime Racing, as part of a working relationship with Carl Long.
Finishing a respectable 20th, the finish likely didn’t get the publicity it deserved, considering the equipment he was running in, and the fact that he hadn’t touched a NASCAR Xfinity Series car since 2018.
In fact, Reed was the highest finishing of any Alpha Prime Racing car - with Rajah Caruth, Daniel Dye, and Ryan Ellis all slotting in behind him in the final rundown, and earning the best finish for Carl Long’s entry in 2023.
All-in-all, it was a pretty stellar return to the Xfinity Series for Reed, who did exactly as he needed to in finishing all the laps, staying out of trouble, and finishing the race inside the top-20. And maybe, just maybe, it could open the door for more opportunities.
With his victory in Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Riley Herbst officially scored the 100th NASCAR victory for Stewart-Haas Racing, winning by nearly 15 seconds.
The 100 victories are comprised of:
69 NASCAR Cup Series wins.
2 NASCAR All-Star Race victories.
3 Duel at Daytona victories.
21 NASCAR Xfinity Series wins - as Stewart-Haas Racing.
3 NASCAR Xfinity Series wins - as Biagi-Denbeste Racing w/ SHR
1 NASCAR Xfinity Series win - as Haas Racing Team.
1 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series win - as Haas Racing Development.
