When people refer to Memorial Day Weekend as a “long weekend”, I don’t think they had the same mindset as Mother Nature did at Charlotte Motor Speedway, as both the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series events were postponed until Monday.
However, when we FINALLY got things underway, the racing was pretty incredible once again and saw the end of two relatively long winless streaks for Ryan Blaney and Justin Allgaier.
For those looking for the #SrigleyStats Sheet, don’t worry, that will be released to paid subscribers later this week! If you’re interested in gaining access to the #SrigleyStats Sheet, you can subscribe for $5/month or $50/year, down below:

Zane Smith entered Monday’s Coca-Cola 600 with a handful of NASCAR Cup Series starts under his belt. Driving the No. 38 Ford Mustang for Front Row Motorsports, the defending NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series had put up some solid results.
And while it’s difficult for a champion of the Truck Series to stand out enough to deserve recognition, the Huntington Beach, California-native scored his first top-10 finish on Monday, and it wasn’t attrition-based, but it was straight-up earned.
In the longest race of his NASCAR career, Smith started off relatively slow, running outside the top-25 for the early portions of the 600-mile contest, but as the race progressed, the Front Row Motorsports driver started to climb up the order.
At one point, Smith even led the Coca-Cola 600, his first laps led in the NASCAR Cup Series, albeit on pit strategy. However, a rash of cautions, kept Smith inside the top-15, allowing him to maintain a solid track position and pit for new tires later on.
On the final restart, with came with 20 to go, Smith was able to surge through the field, moving into the top-10 in the race’s closing laps, where he eventually finished 10th, marking another top-10 for Front Row Motorsports in 2023.
His performance was eye-opening and could have him in line to join the NASCAR Cup Series field on a full-time basis at some point soon, where he proved that he could be a winner in the future.
Finishing P3 in Sunday’s Indianapolis 500, Santino Ferrucci has now picked up five top-10 results in his first five starts in the historic event. In doing so, Ferrucci becomes the third driver in the history of the race to score top-10 finishes in his first five attempts.
