The NASCAR Cup Series and the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series got to play in the dirt this weekend in Bristol, Tennessee, contesting the third annual Bristol Dirt Weekend at the temporary half-mile dirt oval.
However, in the race’s third iteration, the racing was superb and easily outdid both of the previous Food City Dirt Races from the last two years. On top of that, a dirt track racing driver finally scored the victory, with Christopher Bell ending the race P1.
Let’s take a look back at some of the #SrigleyStats from Bristol, as well as a quick recap of each race’s finishing order, and the #SrigleyStats Spotlight Driver.

One of the best underdog stories in Saturday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Weather Guard Truck Race on Dirt was Kaden Honeycutt, driving the No. 04 Ford F-150 for Roper Racing Team.
The Willow Park, Texas native was one of the drivers who ventured to the top lane earliest in Saturday’s heat races, allowing him to fly through the pack and earn enough passing points to start the 150-lap contest in third, behind only Zane Smith and Ty Majeski.
Honeycutt, who debuted in the NASCAR Truck Series last year with G2G Racing and On Point Motorsports, posted some impressive results in his maiden part-time campaign, which has caused several to take notice of his partial campaign with Roper Racing Team.
The 19-year-old driver thrived in the early portion of Saturday’s Weather Guard Truck Race on Dirt, maintaining a position inside the top five for much of the race’s first stage, until the No. 04 started to lose the handle at the end, slipping back to seventh.
Though the fall through the field wasn’t done for Honeycutt, after losing traction on a restart, the second-year driver found himself outside the top-15 for a couple of laps, falling as low as 19th.
Honeycutt would end up rebounding to match a career-best ninth-place result at the end of 150 laps, scoring his second top-10 of his 13-race career, and the second time this season that the No. 04 has spent several laps inside the top-five.
At the start of the season, Honeycutt was only guaranteed a six-race stint with Roper Racing Team, with the possibility of running the full schedule open based on sponsorship dollars.
After failing to qualify at Daytona, the organization has decided to run Martinsville as a consolation, but following Friday’s Long John Silver’s 200 at the half-mile paperclip, things are up in the air, and fully dependent on the funding available.
However, one bright spot for Honeycutt, is the opportunity to run double-duty this coming weekend at Martinsville, as it was announced Tuesday that CHK Racing has tapped him to pilot the No. 74 Chevrolet Camaro.
DAVENPORT’S DOUBLE DEBUT ON DIRT
Making both his NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series debut this weekend at Bristol Motor Speedway, dirt racing veteran Jonathan Davenport became only the fifth driver - and the first since Scott Pruett in 2000 - to debut in two of NASCAR’s top-three series on the same weekend.
Additionally, Davenport is the only driver in the 28-year history of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series and NASCAR Cup Series’ coexistence, to debut in both series on the same weekend.
Davenport finished 14th in Saturday’s Weather Guard Truck Race on Dirt, driving for Spire Motorsports. However, the 39-year-old driver recorded a result of 36th in Sunday’s Food City Dirt Race, after clipping the side of the spinning Kyle Larson.
