BUESCHER DRIVES THROUGH THE PACK TO SCORE VICTORY
Chris Buescher, the winner of Sunday’s Cook Out 400 at Richmond Raceway, drove from a 26th-place starting position, to score his third career victory in the NASCAR Cup Series, driving the No. 17 for RFK Racing.
Buescher is just the fifth driver in the history of Richmond Raceway to score a NASCAR Cup Series victory by starting outside the top-25.
AUSTIN HILL PUTTING A WHOOPING ON THE XFINITY FIELD
Austin Hill is clearly the favorite for the 2023 NASCAR Xfinity Series title, scoring four victories (Daytona, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Pocono), but it’s his streak over the last 11 weeks or so that should have the field worried.
In his last 11 NASCAR Xfinity Series starts, Hill has scored nine finishes inside the top five, with the only two exceptions being an eighth at Sonoma, and a 12th at Atlanta.
MILLS HAS THE SKILLS TO PAY THE BILLS
Matt Mills put down an impressive result in his first of two NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events with Kyle Busch Motorsports, finishing fifth in the No. 51 JF Electric Chevrolet Silverado.
On Saturday, Mills spent 211 laps inside the top-15, more than triple the amount that he had spent inside the top-15 throughout his entire NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series career before.
